Changes to the Office for Nuclear Regulation's website

Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent external website survey.

The survey provided some useful suggestions that we will use in developing the website with the aim of making it more user-friendly for visitors and more closely aligned to ONR’s structure.

The highlights of the survey included:

  • 96% of respondents thought that the website was satisfactory or good;
  • 84% of respondents visit the site at least once per month, with 41% visiting once per week and 15% every day;
  • 91% of respondents found what they were looking for when visiting the site.

Following the survey and website review, we have already started making changes to the website and you will start to notice more in the coming weeks as we work to develop the structure and content.  We will be developing the site through a phased approach so not to disrupt your access to the site.

We have already launched a new ONR home page, which includes improved access to ONR information and makes it easier to navigate around the ONR site. It also provides the latest news, key resources and a link to the sites that we regulate, which we are working to improve further in a later stage of the redevelopment.

The new ‘About us’ section is also now live and includes the latest information about the organisation, and our transition towards statutory corporation.  A new ‘Our work’ section will be next, reflecting ONR’s programme structure, and regulatory functions. This will be followed by improvements to the resources section.

We are confident that visitors will appreciate the changes that we are making to the website, and the revisions will enable people to navigate around the site quickly and effectively to find the information that they are looking for.
