Five more GDA issues closed on new reactor design

ONR and the Environment Agency have closed five more generic design assessment (GDA) issues on the UK EPR reactor design, bringing the total number closed to nine and leaving 22 issues outstanding.

In December 2011, the regulators identified a total of 31 issues on the design, submitted for assessment by EDF and Areva, that need to be addressed before they will consider issuing final design acceptances.
