Apply to advise Chief Inspector: deadline extended

Last month we reported that ONR would be setting up a new panel to provide independent strategic technical advice to the Office for Nuclear Regulation on a wide range of nuclear safety and security related topics. Nominations were invited from interested parties to this new advisory panel which will meet approximately twice a year in London.

Establishing Chief Nuclear Advisory Panel follows a recommendation from the House of Lord’s Science and Technology Committee report (published November 2011) into Nuclear Research and Development Capabilities. The Select Committee report made several recommendations, one of which was that ONR reformulate an advisory committee similar to the Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee (NuSAC).

Applications continue to be accepted until 31 July.
