ONR report on Regulators’ Code

ONR has today published a report summarising its compliance arrangements with the objectives and values of the Regulators’ Code

The Code was developed by the Better Regulation Delivery Office of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and came into effect in April 2014. It provides a flexible, principles based framework for regulatory delivery and outlines the services that can be expected of regulators.

It is accepted by Government that the Code will take a period of time to become embedded across the regulatory community.  ONR’s report provides an overview of the existing arrangements in place to demonstrate compliance with the Code, and also makes several recommendations to further embed the Regulators’ Code expectations into our everyday working practices.

A further review of compliance with the Code will be undertaken in autumn 2016.
