ONR has served Format NDT Ltd from St Helens with an Improvement Notice, following a transport compliance inspection in March 2018.
At the time of the inspection the company had not carried out a suitable and sufficient radiation risk assessment in relation to its work.
ONR expects the company to have put satisfactory remedial actions in place by 20 July 2018.
ONR regulates the transport of radioactive substances within Great Britain under both The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009. This action was taken under the requirements of IRR17.
