NEA survey on trust

The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is inviting interested parties to take part in a survey about building and maintaining trust between nuclear safety regulators and the stakeholders and public they engage with.

The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is encouraging its stakeholders to take part in the short NEA survey and share their views.

The work of the NEA, including its regular stakeholder workshops, has highlighted trust as essential for conducting effective dialogue and interaction between regulators and the public.

The aim of the survey is to help the NEA understand more about what attributes and practical actions can help to build trust. Your views, through this survey, will help inform the NEA’s work to better understand the characteristics that a trusted nuclear safety regulator would demonstrate, enabling it to give practical advice and guidance to regulators including ONR and share good practices.

Whether you are someone who works closely with a nuclear safety regulator or not, the NEA would like to hear your feedback about what attributes a trusted regulator shows, and what more could be done to be better in the future.

The survey will run until 15 March 2021.
