The Office for Nuclear Regulation has published notes of a public meeting between ONR and communities neighbouring Hinkley Point A, B and the proposed C nuclear power stations.
The forum, held on 26 September 2012, provided an opportunity for people to ask questions about how ONR regulates safety and security at nuclear licensed sites.
Around 50 people attended the event, held in Bridgwater, Somerset. Topics covered on the night included decommissioning, Fukushima, generic design assessment, emergency planning and the availability of information. The event was the second such community forum held this year by ONR - the first took place in Sizewell, Suffolk, in February. We are likely to hold more in 2013.
