The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) has today confirmed that Sellafield Ltd has complied with an Improvement Notice served last year.
The legal notice was issued after an ONR inspection of Sellafield Ltd’s arrangements for managing the cooling tower at the Highly Active Liquid Effluent and Storage facility (HALES) on the site. To ensure progress made on this issue continues, ONR will continue to maintain regulatory attention on the HALES cooling system as part of our ongoing scrutiny of health and safety at the site.
