Office for Nuclear Regulation

Working with NGOs

13 November, 2018

It’s essential to engage face to face with stakeholders on nuclear safety and security issues, so we can really understand each other, and be held accountable on behalf of the public.

Our non-governmental organisation (NGO) Forum in October was lively and well-attended, with representatives from NGOs across the country coming together with staff from our own regulatory and policy teams.

Our teams presented updates on a broad range of topics, which included security regulation, Advanced Nuclear Technologies, and graphite cracking. NGOs colleagues asked lots of constructive and probing questions and felt the meeting was productive, collaborative and collegiate.

Our next NGO forum will be on 28 March 2019 and we’ll publish details in the next issue of ONR News.
