ONR has confirmed that Sellafield Ltd has complied with an Improvement Notice served in January 2018.
ONR issued the improvement notice following a significant electric cable strike incident in September 2018 during construction activities on the Fellside Steam Generating Plant. The Improvement Notice relates to Sellafield Ltd’s Principal Contractor arrangements for Construction Design and Management and specifically to construction activities in the proximity of underground high voltage electrical cables.
Sellafield Ltd was required to address the shortfalls cited in the Improvement Notice by 26 April, 2019.
Sellafield Ltd has now completed the improvements necessary and addressed the requirements satisfactorily and ONR has closed the Improvement Notice
