ONR can confirm that UCH Logistics Ltd and XPand Logistics, have both met the requirements of an Improvement Notice, served to each company following an incident in September 2018.
The Improvement Notices were served after it emerged that two packages containing civil radioactive materials had not been transported in accordance with UK requirements. There were no safety consequences to people or the environment as a result of the incident in September 2018.
ONR regulates the transport of radioactive substances within Great Britain under both The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009.
