Aim of inspection

The purpose of the inspection was to review Fugro GeoServices Ltd.’s arrangements for class 7 radioactive material for road transport, covering consignee, carrier and consignor duties.

Key findings, inspector’s opinions and reasons for judgement made

The inspector reviewed a range of topics and identified a number of examples of Fugro GeoServices Ltd. meeting relevant good practice in reducing risk to levels that are ALARP. These included radioactive material safety awareness training for relevant staff, and properly equipped vehicles available for the carriage of radioactive material. Two non-compliances were identified during the inspection.


The inspection findings were presented to Fugro GeoServices Ltd. at the close of the inspection. Two non-compliances were identified.  I judged an overall inspection rating of Amber was appropriate for this inspection.
